Hi! I’m Jana (she/her). I’m originally from Barcelona, but since 2012 I’ve been lucky to call a beautiful corner of West Cork home.
My path into psychotherapy was shaped by my own lived experiences—through loss, grief, trauma, and the many ups and downs that come with life’s big transitions. These moments led me to study Psychology, and eventually complete a Master’s in Psychotherapy.
Becoming a mother was another turning point for me. It opened my eyes to the emotional intensity of the perinatal period, and inspired me to specialise in Perinatal Mental Health—so I can offer the kind of support I wish I’d had during that time.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical and Health Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I have also done CPD and certified trainings in:
Perinatal Mental Health
Birth Trauma Resolution Therapy
Trauma Informed Care
Traumatic Grief
Compassion Focused Therapy
Anxiety
Diversity in the Therapy Room
Mindfulness
CBT
I am a member of the Association of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists in Ireland (APCP)
As an integrative psychotherapist, I believe that one size does not fit all. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support each client in a way that feels most meaningful and effective for them. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to work toward your goals at your own pace.
I work through a Trauma-Informed Care lens, which means prioritising safety, choice, and trust. I follow a humanistic-relational approach, integrating CBT and other third-wave therapies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into our work.
I see You as the expert of your own experience. While I offer psychoeducation grounded in neuroscience and evidence-based research—to help make sense of what you may be feeling—your story is unique. Together, we will explore what healing looks like for you.
I offer therapy in English, Spanish, and Catalan, in person and online psychotherapy.
I have Specialist training in Perinatal Mental Health and Birth Trauma, and my own lived experience of motherhood. This means I have a strong understanding of how pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can affect our emotional wellbeing—especially when things don’t go as expected.
This background helps me offer therapy that’s sensitive, supportive, and tailored to the unique challenges of the perinatal period. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, struggling after a miscarriage, infertility, a difficult birth, or simply needing space to process your experience, I bring both knowledge and compassion to help you feel heard, understood, and supported.
I work with clients facing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, trauma, birth trauma and identity struggles. My integrative approach allows me to adapt to diverse presentations and support your unique situation.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where your insights and experiences guide our work together. This ensures that every session is meaningful and aligned with your personal journey.
Step into a safe, supportive space where you can explore life’s challenges and nurture your mental wellbeing. By gently acknowledging the wounds of the past, we can begin to make sense of the present—and open the door to meaningful change in the future.
Together, we can explore what feels challenging for you right now—at your pace, and from wherever you are.
I offer sessions both online and in person. Each session lasts 60 minutes and is priced at €60.
Feel free to get in touch to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. It’s a chance for us to connect and see if working together feels like the right fit for you.

I understand that finances can sometimes be a barrier to getting support. To help make therapy more accessible, I offer a sliding scale for those who need it.
If this would be helpful for you, we can talk it through together.
Please reach me at info@janahayestherapy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, Jana Hayes Therapy is a LGBTQIA+ friendly practice. I provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
As a mum myself, I truly understand how challenging it can be to find time for your own self-care-- especially when it means arranging someone to look after your baby. While bringing your baby to a session isn't ideal, as it may make it harder to fully engage in the therapeutic process, I recognize that sometimes there are no other options. I aim to be flexible and will do my best to accommodate you and your baby in exceptional circumstances.
Sessions are charged at the agreed rate and are payable 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice by emailing info@janahayestherapy.com or texting/calling 089 212 9337. This notice period is necessary to allow time to offer the slot to someone else and to cover overhead costs such as room rental.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments without prior notice, will incur the full session fee. However, I will do my best to reschedule your session within the same week—subject to availability—at no additional cost.
In the case of emergencies or unexpected events, please reach out and we can discuss the best way forward.
If I ever need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative time that works for you.
I offer therapy sessions Monday through Friday, with some availability in the evenings and weekends in exceptional circumstances. Sessions can be held online from the comfort of your home or a private space, or in person in Clonakilty. Please contact me to schedule your first appointment.
Everything shared during therapy sessions is kept strictly confidential and will not be disclosed without your explicit consent. However, there are rare circumstances where confidentiality may need to be breached—such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if child protection concerns arise. In such cases, every effort will be made to discuss this with you before any action is taken.
